Alois Maxwell "Al" Hirt is an American band and trumpeter. He is best remembered for the multi-million dollar best-selling record of "Java" and the accompanying album Honey in the Horn, and the theme music of The Green Hornet. His nicknames include "Jumbo" and "The Round Mound of Sound". Colin Escott, author of the musician's biography, wrote that RCA Victor Records, where Hirt recorded most of his best-selling records and spent most of his professional recording career, earned him another nickname: "The King". Hirt was inducted into the Louisiana Hall of Music Fame in November 2009.
